The first reviews for The Lion King are in, and although they aren’t all that great so far, it seems most critics can agree on one thing: Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are perfectly cast as Pumbaa and Timon. The dynamic duo bring plenty of laughs throughout the 2019 photo-realistic reboot of the beloved 1994 classic, and in a new clip from the film, we get to see them save young, fluffy Simba (voiced by JD McCrary) from a pack of hungry vultures.
In addition to the new footage, above, Disney shared a behind-the-scenes look at the real-life cast voicing their roles in the studio. Not only did they record their parts in the usual recording booth, but director Links”>Jon Favreau also had the stars get together and physically act out the dialogue.
Check out both clips, then be sure to watch Simba and Scar go head-to-head before the film arrives in theaters on July 18.
