Britain’s first gay dads have break up up after one of them fell in love with their daughter’s ex-boyfriend, who’s half his age.
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, 50, and Tony have been dubbed Britain’s first gay fathers in 1999 when a surrogate gave delivery to their twins, Saffron and Aspen, now 19 years outdated.
Now, the dads have damaged off their 32-year relationship after Barrie fell in love with Saffron’s 25-year-old ex-boyfriend Scott Hutchison.
What’s much more stunning is that the entire household live collectively underneath one roof in Florida. Tony is known as Dad, Barrie is known as Daddy and Scott is stepdad.
Barrie instructed the Solar: “I’ve fallen in love with Scott and he has achieved the identical. I really feel silly at my age to have these emotions about somebody apart from Tony who’s half my age.
“But when you know something is right, it’s right. We have not made definite plans but I would like to marry Scott. I’m not having a midlife crisis. This is the real deal.”
He acknowledged that not everybody will “get it”, however insists that his household scenario is extra steady than many different households.
He added that “Dad’s got a new fella and we are one bigger happy family instead.”
He continued: “I’m not sure what the big deal is myself, things don’t always work out in relationships for one reason or another, but Tony and I are both very happy about the way things have turned out and regardless of the negativity regarding our relationship, we will both be there for each other through this very difficult time.”
The couple are value round £40million and have houses in Danbury, Essex, and the US.
Barrie is CEO of the British Surrogacy Centre of America which he launched in 2000 and which provides surrogacy companies in a number of nations.
