Armed robbers disguised as clients kill Bureau de Change operator in Abuja, cart away with bag fully loaded with local and foreign currencies

Armed robbers on Thursday, stormed Zone 4 Bureau de Change market in Abuja, allegedly shot useless an operator recognized as Alhaji Hamisu Naira and absconded with unspecified amount of money.

 

Based on studies, the incident occurred at 9:00am when the operators have been beginning the enterprise of the day.

“The robbers disguised as clients looking for to trade foreign money and then beckoned Hamisu to return. They swiftly grabbed his Ghana-Should-Go bag which was fully-loaded with local and foreign currencies, together with {dollars}, kilos sterling and euros,” mentioned a witness.

“Alhaji Naira then held his bag tightly and refused to let go. He challenged the attackers because it wasn’t his money alone in the bag, and as a result they shot him and fled with the money. The gunshot drew everybody’s attention in the market. We just saw Alhaji Naira’s body lying in the pool of his blood. Some of the marketers around hurriedly took away the corpse, and then we contacted the police immediately,” the witness added.

 

The deceased, who hailed from Hadejia Local Authorities Space of Jigawa State, has since been buried in keeping with Islamic rites.
