Another United States Senator has spoken on the rearrest ofOmoyele Sowore by operatives of theDivision of StateProviders (DSS).
A video exhibiting an alleged DSS agent making an attempt to arrest him in a courtroom circulated on social media on Friday earlier than the journalist was finally arrested.
Senator Bob Menendez had known as a press convention saying that “there will be consequences” within the US’ relationship with Nigeria if any hurt involves Sowore.
Now, one other US Senator, Cory Booker, has launched an announcement calling for the discharge of the activist. He wrote on his Twitter:
Its appalling that NJ journalist Omoyele Sowore was re-arrested in Nigeria hours after his launch. It is a surprising affront to the countrys rule of legislation and Nigeria must cease its dangerous attacks on freedom of expression.
