What better way to celebrate International Sweatpants Day (yes, it’s real) than by relaxing in your comfiest loungewear all day long? Granted, many of us hoped our cozy pandemic wear was a thing of the past, but that dream was squashed when Omicron sent us all back into one form of isolation or another. Besides, as we enter 2022, it’s clear that our desire for comfort has not yet subsided. With more companies adopting work-from-home or hybrid schedules for their employees, we foresee sweatshirts and sweatpants continuing to be a wardrobe staple in many peoples’ lives.
Even designers are making athleisure an essential part of their product offerings (take Prada’s collaboration with Adidas for instance). Whether you’re running errands, attending zoom meetings all day or binge-watching the latest season of a popular TV show (Euphoria, anyone?), sweatpants are the perfect attire for a comfy, hygge-filled day (or week).
