Is Luka Doncic playing tonight? Mavericks vs. Warriors start time, TV channel, live stream

1 month ago 19

The Mavericks are about to commence a five-game road trip that features contests against the Warriors, Jazz, Clippers, and back-to-back matchups with the Kings. But the big question is: will Luka Doncic be joining them?

Doncic sustained a heel contusion Thursday night during the Mavericks' 111-106 win over the Pelicans at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Despite his injury, Doncic piled on 31 points, 8 rebounds and four assists in just 23 minutes of action.

Dallas and Golden State will lock horns for the second time this season. The Mavericks defeated the Warriors 116-113 on Nov. 30. Doncic was the Mavs' best with 41 points, while Steph Curry led the Warriors with 32 points.

Will Doncic be cleared for Saturday's matchup against the Warriors? Here's the latest on his status.

Is Luka Doncic playing vs. Warriors tonight?

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd confirmed that an MRI on Friday revealed that Doncic's heel contusion is "not severe," but that Luka will still be ruled out of Saturday's game against the Warriors.

The Mavericks say Luka Dončić (heel) will not fly with the team today and thus miss Saturday's Golden State opener of a five-game trip ... but Christian Wood (thumb) is progressing toward a likely Monday return after seven games out.

While Doncic didn't travel with the team to San Fransisco, he hasn't been ruled out of the rest of the Mavericks' road trip.
