Randall Cobb is set to make a timely return for the Packers' divisional round game against the 49ers on Saturday.

The veteran receiver hasn't played since having surgery to repair a core muscle injury following the Week 12 game against the Rams. Nearly two months later, Cobb is expected take the field again to help potentially lead his team to a Super Bowl.

Roughly 7 weeks after he had surgery to repair a core muscle issue, #Packers WR Randall Cobb is expected to play this week, per coach Matt LaFleur. Another injury boost.

BENDER: Aaron Rodgers' playoff record

Packers coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Wednesday that he gave Cobb the "green light" to return after the 31-year-old practiced with the team for the past week. The Packers' first-round bye helped Cobb's return timeline.

Based on Cobb's last few practices, LaFleur said the receiver is looking great and that he anticipates him being ready for Saturday.

Cobb will join receivers Davante Adams (1,553 receiving yards) and Allen Lazard (513) as Aaron Rodgers' top three targets. This is Cobb's ninth season with Rodgers and the Packers. He left the organization the last two years, playing for the Cowboys and Texans, but made his return to Green Bay this season.

Through the 11 games Cobb played in this season so far, he has caught 28 of 39 targets for 375 yards and five touchdowns.

While the news on Cobb is good, the Packers are still waiting to see if they will get receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling back for Saturday, as he has been dealing with a back injury. He was limited in Wednesday's practice.
