He seemed to be a bit tipsy as upon his return, the security guard denied him from returning to his seat, because the men’s game was in action. After the French team, Mahut and Vasselin won the fourth set, the security guard allowed Woody Harrelson inside the Royal Box and later he was seated.

It was phenomenal gentlemen’s doubles match played between the two teams, which left the tennis followers in tears. The Colombians won 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (5-7), 6-3. It was a big day for the South American nation Colombia, as they clinched their first ever Grand Slam title in the most prestigious tennis tournament of the world. The green grass at Wimbledon has been unfortunate to Nicholas Mahut. In 2010, he played the longest match against John Isner, which lasted almost for three days (11 hours and 5 minutes) and he landed up losing to the American giant, with 70-68 score in the final set.

This year, he was not given a wild card in the singles draw and he conceded a defeat in the opening round of the qualifiers. And his long-term doubles partner, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, collaborated with Britain’s Andy Murray for the gentlemen’s doubles event at Wimbledon Championships 2019.
