West Ham to complete first summer signing

West Ham are set to sign Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals in a deal which could cost the Hammers around 27 million euros.

After a pretty average season in the last campaign, West Ham are in need of a big summer.

The Hammers finished 10th despite much optimism before the season kicked off.

Now, Manuel Pellegrini will be looking to build on that season and challenge for a Europa League spot in the next campaign.

One player who could help them do that is Pablo Fornals, with West Ham set to sign the Spaniard.

Fornals on his way to London

According to Mundo Deportivo, West Ham have completed a deal to sign Fornals and his signing will be confirmed in a matter of hours.

Their report claims ‘Sources close to the negotiation have confirmed to EFE that an agreement has already been reached for the transfer of the player and that it will become official shortly.’

Mundo continue by explaining Fornals had already agreed terms with West Ham but final details needed to be agreed between the clubs.

Now, a deal has been reached and Fornals will cost West Ham in the region of 27 million euros.

So who is Pablo Fornals?

The Spaniard, formerly of Malaga, plays as a central attacking midfielder.

Fornals scored five goals and assisted six in 50 appearances for Villarreal during the last campaign.

At just 23-years-old, Fornals represents a pretty good signing for West Ham and fans will hope he can spearhead their march for European football next season.
