Thats when a thief climbed in and sped off.
I run outside to have a look and I say where’s my car; where’s Joesph, she said. I say Joe Joe, where are you?
Police issued an Amber Alert for the young boy flooding the streets overnight and bombarding the media with images of Joseph, who became a passenger in an illegal and dangerous joyride.
The 10-hour ordeal ended in Forrestfield where the car, with Joseph inside, was dumped on Northumberland Road, 19 kilometres from the boys home in Morley.
The brave boy had woken in the back of the car and knocked on the door of a nearby home.
I stayed in the car until they parked it and I knocked on somebody’s door, Joseph recalled.
They didnt come the first time so I came in the morning and then they answered.
That was about 5.30am Sunday.
The occupant of the home recognised Joseph and called police before taking the boy to Mirrabooka Police Station where he was reunited with his very relieved mother.
A really big relief when we hear he is safe and sound, Ms Hsieh said.
Police have launched a manhunt for the car thief and urge anyone with dash-cam footage, or information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestoppers.com.au.
