A five-year-old boy has died after he was mauled by his household’s pit bull canine in California, in line with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division.
The incident occurred on Monday round three p.m. in Oro Grande, Calif., in line with police. An grownup relative was supervising the little one at the time.
“The adult stepped out of the room, leaving the child with the pit bull,” the sheriff’s division stated in an announcement to the San Bernardino Sun newspaper. “When he returned the dog was attacking the child and would not release him.”
The relative referred to as police whereas the assault was unfolding, in line with Sgt. Jeff Allison.
Officers ultimately managed to separate the canine from the boy.
“Unfortunately, the child did not survive,” Allison instructed NBC Los Angeles. The kid’s dad and mom have been later notified of his loss of life.
Allison added that there was no identified motive for the assault, and there have been no different youngsters in the room when it occurred.
Authorities are interviewing the household, however they don’t suspect any legal exercise in the case.
The canine has been quarantined by animal management.
